Part 1 - Tasks A  B  C

Task A

We're not talking Coconuts!

Investing money takes time and know-how in order to get the most out of your money.  I bet you wish you had a cash cow on that island or maybe some pork bellies (both investing terms). The vocabulary is extensive, and you may need to the difference between an IRA, CD, and the general terms of investing.

I want you to collect and define terms that deal with investing and organize them alphabetically.

I will start you with a list of ten terms that you need to define. You will need 3 definitions for each term.  Two of the definitions should be copied directly from one of the links. You must copy two URLs for each definition.  The third definition is one that you write yourself.  The third definition should be your own description of the concept.  This third definition must be written in full sentences.

You need to organize your definitions on a word document.

You will need to post your list on SharePoint by the due date.

Task B

Investment options

There are many investment options out there and we need to narrow down our choices.  I want you to explore the 6 different investment options listed below and describe each one.   Keep track of what you find and be on the lookout for the best deal. You will need to consider such things as the interest rate and access to your money.

Explore each of the links to find the highest gains for each investment option.

You will need to write a short summary (1 paragraph) to explain what you have found about each investment option. You need a basic description of the investment type and will need to consider details such as access to your money and interest.  Each investment source will have different information.  Take your time and READ through each option carefully.

You may add extra columns for more information if you like, but you need to enter the information for each column that is listed on the template.  For investment options such as savings accounts, checking accounts, and certificates of deposits, you will need to include the information from four web sites in your table.  You will need to post your spreadsheet and word document on SharePoint by the due date.

D) Certificates of Deposit

E) Uncle Vinnie or Aunt Minnie

Task C

As you search through the investment options you may come across new terminology that you are not familiar with. As you come across words or terms you don't know, you will need to follow the links to investment terms used earlier to find their meanings.  You must add the definitions of at least ten more investment terms to you original list as you come across new terms that you don't know, or want to know. Just like Task A, you will need 3 definitions for each term.  You will need to post you finished project on SharePoint by the due date.
